Check out this video! CrossFit HQ first met Junior Smithen in June 2018 when he decided to manage his diabetes with CrossFit instead of the little white pills and insulin his doctors prescribed.
Now, Smithen is faced with another difficult decision: undergo invasive surgery or stay on track with his lifestyle goals. “Surgery, for me … doesn’t deal with the issue,” he says. “You have to change your lifestyle if you want your lifestyle to be different.”
