Looking to get started at Clinch Valley CrossFit? Never tried CrossFit before? Not a problem! We’ll teach you everything you need to know in our CV Elements Class, a 30-Minute Intro Session. Email us at contact@clinchvalleycrossfit.com to let us know what time of day you are trying to come to the gym. From there, we will pair you up with a coach that will walk you through the 30-Minute Intro Session. With this coach, you will cover how to warm up, learn how to do some of the movements that you’ll see inside of workouts, and go over all the ins & outs of what makes CV special. We will help you work with any injuries or modifications. After your Elements Session, your coach will still be in touch for the next 30 days. We will send you a Mentoring Email every night with the next days workout, advice for that workout, and a little piece of CrossFit knowledge. Your 30-Minute Intro Session will arm you with the confidence and knowledge to be successful in group classes at Clinch Valley CrossFit. By definition, CrossFit is Constantly Varied Functional Movements performed at a High Intensity. To be less nerdy, it’s a fitness program designed to train our bodies for the unknown and unknowable. We regularly train movements that we see outside of the gym: picking things up, pressing things overhead, running, pushing, pulling, throwing, etc. We combine weightlifting, gymnastics, and cardio machines into our program.

Everyone! Whether you are a seasoned veteran or this will be your first day learning about CrossFit, this one day session is designed to set you up for long-term success at Clinch Valley. We will discuss goals and structure of the gym.

The CV Elements Class comes with your membership! Upon the purchase of a membership to Clinch Valley, you are scheduled a complimentary consultation with our CV Elements coach.

Because the session is only 30 minutes, you may consider taking your first class as a member when the session is over. Therefore, clothes that you are comfortable moving in should be worn. You will be getting up and down off the floor and moving quickly. Make sure they are clothes you are ok sweating in. You will sweat! In the nicer months, we will work out outside if the weather permits it. There are tons of CrossFit-specific clothes and shoes out there but you do not need any of that to get started. If you are looking to upgrade the wardrobe, we can point you in the right direction.

We are sorry to hear that but not a problem. The beauty of CrossFit is that it can be adjusted, tailored, or modified to fit anyone’s needs. In your CV Elements Session, we can come up with a plan on how to accommodate any injuries for upcoming classes.

Anything done incorrectly can be dangerous. By going through a CV Elements program, you are learning the correct way to move and approach workouts. Once in classes, you are under the watchful eye of a coach whose sole purpose is to push you outside your comfort zone while maintaining a safe environment. CrossFit done correctly is not dangerous.
